Marta Ruiz Costa-Jussà, a researcher from the Intelligent Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (IDEAI-UPC) research centre, analyses how gender bias in natural language processing —a sub-branch of artificial intelligence— affects, for example, some Google Translate translations, in which one gender prevails, and automated hiring processes that prioritise male candidates over female candidates.
