Southwest Airlines announced it will begin service at Dayton International Airport on August 12, with a daily round-trip to Denver. The Denver flight will offer Dayton passengers easy access to destinations in California and other western states served by the discount airline. Dayton passengers will begin to see the presence of Southwest at Dayton International when the airline establishes a staffed service desk this summer. Additional Southwest flights are anticipated as the airline completes its merger with AirTran. Southwest, which serves markets in 37 states, announced in January that Dayton is one of 22 AirTran markets that will have Southwest service. For more information, go to www.flydayton.com
