Kashyap Iyengar - 14 year old Prog Rock Keyboardist, Singer, Producer.
A progressive/psychedlic rock take on The Beatles' classic 'Within You Without You' from their LP 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' made using Wizdom Music and moForte's guiar emulator app 'GeoShred' and Logic Pro X.
GeoShred, the latest app from app developers Wizdom Music and sound designers moForte, is the app in the market that can change any instrumentalist into a professional guitarist with the best possible sound emulating program at your fingertips, in a playable manner. In this particular video, I have used a number of presets such as the signature 'Shred Lead' and the 'Rudess Lead' for some of the parts, passing them through another amplifier (double amped) and an EQ. Layering such sounds gives a fuller output and fits better in the mix with the patches such as an electronic Sitar and a 'Dobro' creating the bass harmonies for the 'Geo Choir' that I have been able to present in this video.
I have used about 14-15 different patches from GeoShred, some of them tweaked a bit and double tracked and double amped, and a three part 'Guitar Voice' layer harmony running throughout to make it sound like a 'singing triplet'. The 'Tanpura' instrument heard at the very beginning, was created using the electronic sitar patch, played at a considerable speed and totally wet with reverb later, creating a drone. GeoShred's FX board allows me to get more results out of the existing patches and settings. The 'Pizzicato' strings were actually acoustic guitar tones, with muted steel strings and a high stiffness level. This was then passed through a mild distortion to get a harsh pluck. The 'physical modelling' aspect of the app has the ability to turn a guitar into an orchestra instrument, and a guitar into a singer. So that's what Wizdom Music and moForte have tried to express with this new app - GeoShred.
