Diplomats and arms control experts gathered at the United Nations Office at Geneva to mark the 40th anniversary of the Biological Weapons Convention. The landmark arms control treaty entered into force on 26 March 1975 and was the first treaty to effectively prohibit an entire category of weapons of mass destruction.
