This is LED matrix panel #2, wired into a PC's parallel port for control testing pattern and text ability. Simple scheme for 7 "colors" (16 if you count the fluttering lattice colors, a quick attempt to make a 50% dim)
This test is mimicking what the computer has on-screen in the top 16x16 region - the test program is in QBasic. Yes, QBASIC
Tech specs: Hand-made. 256 RGB LEDs (16x16 layout), common anode. Wired with untangled stranded CAT5. Mounted on flexible PVC gardening mesh apx 3/4". 7.4V LiPo on a 5V regulator for portable power. 8 wires for everything; +5V, -5V, R, G, B, Clock, Clock reset, Overflow. 8bit counter and 4to16 line demuxers for addressing.
