With support from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, this program offers residential fellowships for faculty in the humanities, arts, and interpretive social sciences at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). This talk dealt with the changing face of Afro-Latino/a identity and the challenges many of them face throughout the African Diaspora in Latin America. The Mellon HBCU Fellowship Program supports a year of scholarly research in a collegial environment, with access to many opportunities for substantive interaction and collaboration with faculty and students at Duke as well as other area institutions.
