This tutorial explains how to modify inexpensive micro-cameras to disable the time/date timestamp overlay feature.
This is the first video in a 3-part series which explains how anyone with skill using basic tools can inexpensively modify one of these commonly available micro-cameras so that the date/time overlay is disabled.
The lack of a setting to shut off the date/time overlay in these micro-cameras has been a common complaint among users, so we have combined the groundwork done by several members of the Water Rocket Forum (waterrocketforum.com) with our own hardware and software talents and produced a video which we hope will be useful to the numerous people who own one of these cameras.
In Part 1, we explain how to determine how to identify camera which can be modded, followed by detailed instructions how to disasemble the camera and remove the components in preparation for modification, without damaging the camera.
(Special thanks to Chuck, Philippe, and Bill for their efforts in hacking these cameras)
