Irish Water meters feature Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) technology where a transmitter periodically sends your meter reading to a receiver unit in one of our branded, meter reading vehicles. Irish Water will collect these month end records each time a scheduled drive-by reading is carried out, usually every three months. The meter reading will be provided to you as part of your bill. However, should you wish to read your water meter, please ensure that it is safe for you to do so or ask a friend or family member to help.
