the moron in the video has no idea how to cut with a sword, he has no clue about the katana not being tempered, and uses a blunt long sword of the wrong blade type for what he is trying to do. long swords were not 4 feet blades, those were the zweihanders. 33 to 37 inches more like it, and with a diamond cross section distally tapered blade, not the kind in the video, it would thrust far better than the katana.

1: i am highly unpleased with that dude's voice 2: how swinging sideway a dull af longsword is comparable to a clean cut with a perfect katana? 3: 480p and for short: a katana is way sharper and way lighter because it's made for decisive hits and agility while the longsword is sturdier and it's edge stay sharp longer because it's made for sword locks and brutal close combat. hope i'm being more useful than this video.
