The M1 Abrams Main Battle Tank is considered by many to be the physical embodyment of the term, "combat-proven". We always hear about "the Gulf War" this, and the "Iraq War" that --- but what about the results that *aren't* presented by vested interests, and parroted by so many others?

Well, if you lift that rock and see the truths that are concealed beneath, you'll see that in most of the US military's ground wars, the M1 has done..... nothing.

That's what you'll see confirmed in this presentation.

The following are my sources...

US Army's claim for the M1's entry into service --- 1980;

Contrary to the Army's claim that M1s entered dervice in 1980, they weren't even *authorized* until 1981;

US Marine M60A1s went to Lebanon, but this was strictly a Marine operation. Only the Army had M1s at the time, so there were no M1s in the US ground fighting in Lebanon; http://www.tecom.usmc.mil/HD/Chronolo...

The M60 Patton was used in Granada --- not M1s;
http://www.fsmm.org/tanks.htm

M60s and M551s were used in Panama --- not M1s;
http://www.fsmm.org/tanks.htm

More than 20 M1s were lost in Desert Storm, at least 14 in combat;

M60 Patton losses in Desert Storm --- 2;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M60_Patt...

AMX-30 losses in Desert Storm --- 1 (and this is the worst-armored MBT ever to see service, with only 80mm of RHA Steel as it's best protection!);
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMX-30#C...

Not a single example of the 180 Challenger 1s were lost in Desert Storm, despite achieving 300 kills;

A Challenger 1 also scored the farthest direct-fire tank kill in history, with a HESH round at 5110m (3 miles). A direct-fire range this far is impossible with a HEAT or Sabot round, and HESH cannot be fired from a Smoothbore gun like the M1's M256; even if it was possible, the M1's ballisitcs computer cannot calculate beyond 4000m;

Note the immense amount of fuel VII Corps consumed, the distance they covered, and how long it took them;

Another dirty little secret of the M1 from Operation Desert Storm --- the outcome of the Battle of Phase Line Bullet;
