The Non-Canon Expert looks at how Palpatine was forced to give Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi at least a small degree of respect for his victory over his apprentice Darth Vader on Mustafar, explaining how it wasn't Obi-Wan's lightsaber skills or power with the Force that impressed him, but the way in which Obi-Wan was able to move away from the practices of the Jedi Order that made the Jedi vulnerable to the Sith Grand Plan for decades.

This is a Legends story for Palpatine with information found within the Legends novels "Star Wars: Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader," "Star Wars: Darth Plagueis," and "Star Wars: Labyrinth of Evil." I hope that you enjoy it!
