This tutorial explains how to perform a Microsoft Word Mail Merge from Microsoft Excel to Microsoft Word using the Barcode Add-In for Microsoft Excel and 2D (Data Matrix) Barcode fonts.

The tutorial is compatible with any IDAutomation 2D Font including:

QR Code:

Maxicode:

and the Barcode Add-In (free downloaded): http://www.idautomation.com/font-enco...

The tutorial is also designed to resolve a problem that occurs when merging 2D barcode encoded data. In order for a 2D barcode font to display as a square or rectangle, the encoded data must include line feeds and carriage returns. Sometimes during the merging process, an issue occurs where the carriage return is not properly interpreted in Microsoft Word--you may see _x000D_ where the carriage return should be.

To avoid this issue, the Substitute function can be used: http://support.idautomation.com/2D-Ba...
