James Kalm visits the opening of Joan Mitchell's "Works on Paper 1956-1992" at Cheim & Read Gallery. This exhibition in collaboration with the Joan Mitchell Foundation presents a comprehensive overview of the artist's drawings and works on paper. As one of the few women painters who emerged during the formative years of the "New York School" Mitchell established a style that was a transitional step from Abstract Expressionism to "Abstract Impressionism".
