I give you the most expensive classic ever: the Ferrari 250 GTO.
The Ferrari 250 GTO is a GT car which was produced by Ferrari from 1962 to 1964 for homologation into the FIA's Group 3 Grand Touring Car category. The numerical part of its name denotes the displacement in cubic centimeters of each cylinder of the engine, whilst GTO stands for "Gran Turismo Omologata", Italian for "Grand Touring Homologated." Later on, the GTO badge has been used only two more times: for the beautifull 288 and for the recent 599. As I said, the 250 can be rightly claimed the most expensive car ever: in fact in May 2012 a 1962 250 GTO has been sold for $35 million!!
