That was a joke people! Welcome back to Clevver Games, I'm Andrea Rene and after months of deliberation and speculation, the United States Supreme Court sided with gamers! Hooray! In case you missed the story, the state of California and Arnold Schwarzenegger tried to pass a law that would make the sale of violent video games illegal to minors. The case titled Brown vs. Entertainment Merchants Association received its final ruling from the Supreme Court Justices voting 7-2.

Currently, the video game industry like the music, TV, and film industries self regulates when it comes to ratings. And even though it is was documented that the video games industry does better at self regulating than other other type of media, some people out there thought it just wasn't good enough. So, they tried to pass a law to make it a criminal offense to sell a 14 year old a copy of Duke Nukem Forever, or any other M-rated game.

In the decision, the Court ruled that the U.S. has no tradition of protecting children from violent media and that calling the claim that the interactivity of games makes them a special case unpersuasive.
