Vadim Toader, Romania - „How to Cure a Country of Alzheimer"

Vadim, at only 21 years of age, studies Engineering, Economics & Management at Oxford University, is President of the Oxford Romanian Society and GRASP Vice President for External Relations. He was the winner of the 2010 UBS Challenge, the largest student investment banking competition in the United Kingdom, was voted National Favorite Speaker of Romania in 2009 and the list can go on. He is most proud of the "Dare! Fulfill your dreams! " motivational campaign, organized with Roxana Toader and Claudia Damoc. In this campaign, Vadim and his two other teammates gathered sponsorships, trained physically and finally climbed to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro, reaching 5895 m, all in less than two months. Now he wants to return home and help motivate Romanians fight for Romania.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
