Hi Peoples!! Today is a video of my brand new TOMY Plarail D51 200 steam locomotive that I received yesterday from ebay. It cost me around US$30 delivered and as you will see in the video I'm very pleased with it.

My Dad told me in his youth that he actually photographed the real locomotives on a trip to Japan which I thought was cool (my dad is a mad railfan haha).

Anyways on to the engine itself, you remove the battery cover by squeezing the bottom of the boiler to release the tabs, it runs on a C size battery and the drive unit looks familiar as it is the same type featured in Boco and Diesel 10 which is a lovely quiet drive unit. The locomotive has some nice details like the brass painted whistles, proper holes in the wheels, brass colored number decals and a working headlamp, the tender feels very lightweight but is built nicely with proper stub ended axles holding the wheels on. No need to speed mod this one as its a lovely fast engine running the Mr.Motorman device, although if I was to speed mod it I would put the battery pack inside the engine itself as the tender appears too short in length. I have seen another couple of these engines that I am very interested in as they also run on a C size so hopefully I will get some more soon,

As I don't currently have Hiro would some of you that do like to post a comment about the similarities and differences in the appearance?

I highly recommend the Plarail line of trains if you want something different to run on your TOMY and Trackmaster track, they are all built extremely well and run so quietly that its very eery.

I give this engine a score of 10/10 I think its just fantastic!! I highly recommend this engine and if they are not available where you live there are heaps on ebay :)

Thanks for watching!! Leave a comment Guys and Gals I love it when you do :)
