Protest against Israel's attacks on the Palestinian Gaza territory hastily organised in Melbourne on December 30, 2008.

The rally was called by Justice for Palestine and the Palestinian Community Assocation " for people to support the citizens of Gaza who have been subjected to another massacre by the occupying Israeli Occupation Force". Hundreds of people, primarily civilians, have been killed with thousands more injured in the bombing and rocket attacks with military forces massing to invade Gaza.

Two minute's silence was observed at the rally which also heard from a young muslim women - a refugee from Gaza. The rally attracted a broad cross section of people, but especially muslim families. Organisers estimated the crowd at 3,000, police estimated 1500, while SBS World News estimated around a thousand rallied. After the rally outside the State Library, protestors marched down Swanston Street chanting "Free Palestine" and "Israel Out".
