Images of the first 25 years of Channel 9 Brisbane, the conclusion of a marathon birthday celebration (five hours of a Sunday afternoon) hosted by highly respected Hugh Cornish - first person to present Queensland television and became long-time station manager.
As a pioneer, QTQ began broadcasting from 'Brisbane's One Tree Hill' (Mt Coot-tha) on August 16, 1959, the first of the Brisbane stations to launch.
As telecast back in August 1984, Hugh Cornish presented a trip down memory lane.
Sunday 16 August 2009 marked 50 years for Nine in Queensland with QTQ having just aired a special one hour presentation on the Saturday eve, which included interviews with Hugh, Jackie MacDonald and the late Paul Sharratt.
