'Power and Light' was the name of a power station in the Dorćol district of Belgrade, Serbia. This top to bottom, sculptural portrait of the crumbling cathedral to electricity was filmed on super-8 film in 1990 whilst preparing a large-scale live performance on site with the Bow Gamelan Ensemble. The epilogue is a quotation from Paul Burwell's 1982 poem 'Adventures in the House of Memory'. Film and sound by Sean Dower, the gong on the soundtrack belonged to Paul and he is also glimpsed several times in the film, including inspecting pyrotechnics at the end.
