Back in 2006, I fulfilled one of my lifes ambitions, to trek the Himalayas in the Everest region. With 8 hours of video footage, I am presenting brief highlights of this epic journey in a series.

Part (5) takes us from Lobuche at 4930 m ASL, for a very gruelling walk to the Everest Base Camp on the Khumbu Glacier at 5340 m ASL. This walk took the whole day and I was plauged by headaches, shortness of breath and strong UV. Snow goggles were needed due to the strong UV reflected off the snow. After our visit to the Base Camp, the video shows the trip to Gorak Shep, where we stayed the night.
