How to repair / replace a deteriorating and leaking hot tub vinyl top cover. Water seeping through a cracked and deteriorating vinyl top can pool in the bottom of the cover and possibly get soaked up by the foam insulation. This makes the cover much heavier and harder to lift. Plus, the soaked foam no longer provides insulation and energy costs are much higher.

Marine-grade vinyl cost me $50, and contact cement cost $35. With the measuring, cutting and bonding, it took about a full afternoon to complete.

Note that I left about 3/4" overhang on this new vinyl top. But it could be trimmed to exactly fit over the old top.
