Dielectrophoresis-based solution to the 2012 NIST Microrobotics Challenge (in particular to Mobility Challenge task) as prepared and demonstrated by AA4CC team a few days before the actual competition in May 14-18, 2012. A polystyren microbead with a dimension of few tens of microns is steered by the electric field to follow a figure-eight path inscribed in a rectangular arena of dimension less than 3x4 mm. Experiment by Jakub Drs, video by Jiri Zemanek. Fabrication of the microelectrode array by Frantisek Foret and Jakub Grym - our partners in BioCentEx project affiliated with IACH ASCR in Brno.
