This was an fabulous day! The viewing site was at a wind farm on the peninsular south of Runavik with Torshavn visible across the bay to the South-west. It goes without saying it was incredibly windy. It was very cloudy and hopes of seeing totality was very low.
But amazingly, a few minutes before first contact the thin slither of the sun suddenly appeared. Through the solar filter I wasn't able to find it on my still camera - it was still too dim - hence no pictures unfortunately. However, I took the filter off my video camera and there it was. Incredible experience. Enjoy!
