I DO NOT OWN THE TWIST BY THE FAT BOYS WITH CHUBBY CHECKER. I USED THE SONG AS A TRIBUTE TO THEIR FUN COLLABORATION. Lost in the Fifties Street Dance 2011 was a blast! Thank you Carolyn Gleason, 2nd Avenue Pizza, and all the Fabulous Volunteers that allow all of to be Lost in the 50's Tonight. We had no power from City Parking Lot this year due to construction in the area. We started unplugging commercial speakers, then unplugged a 1,000 watt amp, than another 1,000 watt amp and more speakers. We were down to such a low wattage and few speakers that it was impossible to be enthusiastic on the microphone because we instantly distorted & the same thing happened when we tried to jack up the music volume. Next year we are bringing our own independent power and raising lights over the dance with mechanical lifts. We will have the power to service all 12 speakers & our light show. That will be the big change for May 2012. Special thanks to Dan at EVERGREEN TOWING for once again supplying the stage & removing it at the end of the night, our major sponsor Basement CD & Tapes who brought 2 x 4's, hung banners, hooked up equipment, load in and load out, & helped deejay the event with some help from Grandma Pearl and Julie Berreth. Thanks to Eddie, Marcus, and the USAF for being our muscle. Poppa Murphy's Pizza Gang and David Broughton from KPND-FM for being great! Sandy Maras for her incredible spirit. Steve Youngdahl for organizing and leading the private parent patrol to help keep our kids safe. To all the people who dressed up and danced in the street on a gorgeous night in May. Frank the Pug. Alex the Tigerboy -- your Dad loves you! i m u k .
