V3 got a look at the forthcoming Bold Touch today, ahead of its launch at the end of August.

The 2.8in device will take over as RIM's flagship smartphone. Key features includes a revamped chassis that is 10mm thick, a 1.2GHz processor and a touch screen display with an improved 640x480 resolution.

RIM has redesigned the keyboard, making the letters bigger and easier to hit. The manufacturer will also ship the device with the latest BlackBerry 7 OS, a browser that it claims is 40 per cent faster than previous models and NFC functionality,

The Bold Touch is due to be launched on all major UK networks at the end of August. Prices are yet to be confirmed but the handset is expected to be available around the £35 per month mark on a long term contract.
