for the "do it yourselfer", drilling into today porcelain tile can be difficult. these tiles are made harder and fired longer which makes them tougher to drill into. flat spade head glass and tile bits will take you an hour to drill one 3/16" hole...buy a diamond head core bit..available at most lowes and home depot for about $14.00 or buy online..trick it to keep the drill slow,,not high speed and keep spraying water on it while you drill..if the drill bit is smoking, your pushing to hard or drill speed is to fast..it will take a few minutes to drill through,so be patient and all will work out...remember these 3 things,,light pressure, slow drill speed..and keep water on it
