This little known gem from the 1930's chronicles Link, who's been hit hard by a Great Depression in Hyrule. Despite all of his heroic quests in the past he has not a single rupee to show for his troubles. The King and Zelda blow him off when he begs them for rupees and throw him out of the castle to live in the streets. He thinks about joining Ganon, but not even Ganon wants him. And Morshu can't give Link credit. It's a timeless tale. He and Gwonam work on building railroads and towers to get by.

And this would be my first try at a YTPMV besides the Woopsie Daisy Sparta remix, which I guess kind of counts as one. Special thanks to Cyclonus for extra inspiration, we came up with this idea together one day.

Once I built a railroad, made it run
Made it race against time
Once I bult a railroad, now it's done
Brother can you spare a rupee?

Once I built a tower, to the sun
Lamp Oil, and rope, and boooombs
Once I built a tower, now it's done
Brother can you spare a rupee.

Once in khaki suits
Gee we looked great
Full of that yankee-doodle-dum
Half a million boots
Went sloggin' through Koridai
And I was the kid with the sword.

Say don't you remember? They called me Link
It was Link all the time
Don't you remember? I'm your boi
Brother can you spare a rupee?

The song used is "Brother, can you Spare a Dime" as sung by Charlie Palloy. All of the pictures I found on the internet, if they are copyrighted they belong to whoever owns them I suppose. And of course there are clips from the Zelda CD-I games.
