A 25 year old male led Police on an hour long chase that ended in Downtown Dallas. The pursuit started before noon (4/20/12) on Hatcher Street in southeast Dallas when police tried to serve an aggravated assault warrant. The man, armed with a pistol and an assault rifle, jumped into a red sport utility vehicle with a female passenger inside fled the scene, police said. Authorities followed and the chase wound from CF Hawn Freeway (Highway 175) into downtown, across the new Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge and eventually east on Interstate 30, into Mesquite. The man then drove back toward downtown Dallas on Highway 80 and west on I-30, eventually winding through the crowded streets of downtown at slow speeds. The man finally surrendered in Downtown on Griffin Street.
