An Introduction to Coptic Bookbinding

Coptic binding refers to sections of paper sewn through their folds, attached to each other with chain stitch linkings across the spine. The name 'Coptic' comes about as this technique was first employed by early Christians in Egypt from the early 2nd century AD.

We're honoured to have Mr. Chong, the Master Craftsman from Bynd Artisan, demonstrating to us this basic book binding technique. Bynd Artisan is part of the GrandLuxe group, one of Singapore's biggest stationery manufacturers with a history of over 50 years in Singapore.
