Animation is a critical component of a modern interactive experience. But how does animation work? What are the best methods for creating awesome animation on the web? Come learn about Rekapi, a new open source JavaScript library, and other great tools that bring the web to life.

I'm really excited about our presenter this month, Jeremy Kahn. Jeremy works on the front lines of the YouTube Webdev team by day, and pushes commits to his open source projects by night. He loves building beautiful websites and lightning fast JavaScript libraries.

Jeremy grew up near Chicago and studied game development in college, but decided instead to pursue a career in web development. Before joining YouTube, Jeremy helped build sites for clients such as Avery Dennison, CME Group, and KKR. You can find Jeremy on Twitter and Github.

Call to action:
You can learn more about Rekapi at http://rekapi.com/. The project is still young and needs support from the open source community! Patches are welcome (and accepted), and more demos are needed. If you'd like to create a Rekapi animation and share it, please tweet it to @jeremyckahn.
