I first recorded this poem three years ago, when my video technique was as yet undeveloped. I dedicate this updated reading to my dear friend Stephen whose idea it was that I re-record the poem. Stephen's own marvellous and rewarding You Tube channel is at http://www.youtube.com/user/sfkcbf

As before, a great deal of the emotional charge of this poem is due to my use of Richard Strauss's 'Im Abendrot' from the Four Last Songs. I used this in my previous version and so much has it become a leitmotif of the poem that I felt compelled to use it again. The second huge debt is due the sculptors whose work is displayed here.
