In this video, my arduino is running the "Fading" example, which is supposed to fade a LED using PWM. Instead of a LED, I've put the output on a osciloscope, so I can see how PWM works. The output value starts at zero, and raises 5 units each second. When it reaches its maximum value (255) it goes back down to zero (decreasing 5 units each second).
In the osciloscope screen, you can even see the mean voltage.
