A falling out with his father for being too “fancy” sent Sidney Franklin to Mexico City, where he found and fell in love with bullfighting in the early 20th Century.

In his subsequent travels, he’d befriend Ernest Hemingway and earn the adoration of thousands. Rachel Miller, director of archive and library service at the Center for Jewish History, shares his story.
