The Northern Ireland Assembly was in the North West on Friday (21 January) to meet with local voluntary and community groups and to give them the chance to meet MLAs to discuss how both can work together more effectively.
The event took place at the University of Ulster's Magee Campus in Derry/Londonderry and its aim was look at how the sector can get the best from the Assembly, its Committees and MLAs.
The groups were given advice on how to get their message across to the Committee/Assembly and practical tips on how to participate in Committee inquiries.
Pol Callaghan MLA, Tom Elliott MLA, Gregory Campbell MP MLA, and Martina Anderson MLA made up the panel who answered questions from the stakeholder groups. This was followed by a simulated committee meeting, aimed at providing a practical guide of how to work with Committees.
