On Friday, May 13, 2011, Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA), Chairman of the Subcommittee on Early Childhood, Elementary and Secondary Education, introduced the Setting New Priorities in Education Spending Act (H.R. 1891). The bill would begin the process of weeding out inefficient and unnecessary K-12 education programs, and is the first in a series of planned education reforms bills by the House Committee on Education and the Workforce.
