So yeah, we're back with a little bit of goodness for the Emperor, something that I probably should have mentioned sooner. Anyways, let's get right to it.
Dodge cancelling 101 Dodge Cancelling is basically using the dodge command to cancel the full animation of a move so you can quickly chain another move. Emperor has 3 dodge cancellable moves: the mines, stickbomb, and starfall (lol). I haven't come up with anything you can do with the last one just yet, but here are some basic setups to know
One of your basic mixups is land mine - reverse dodge cancel - ? I show two setups here land mine - RDC - Thunder Crest and land mine - RDC - Stickybomb
Thunder Crest can surprise opponents who look to avoid the mines, while stickybomb can be used for it's gravity function to draw them into the minefield. Although you could do any move after the RDC, those two along with simply guarding are the safest. Light Crest is probably too close and Flare will either miss or be reflected if they can pierce the land mines
Another setup you're probably used to seeing is air mine - RDC - Light Crest, but it's not the best as you can see in the video
In addition to the simple combos I've shown before while you trap your opponent in a Thunder Crest, here's a new one Thunder Crest - Stickybomb - DC - Air mine. Simple and has knockback function. Also at the right distances both mines will hit.
Stickybomb, as shown here, can also be reverse dodge cancelled, meaning you can use it to set up almost any move. I just show a few setups you can do.
Stickybomb - RDC - Light Crest, at the right distance, will always land the explosion + 3 hits, and it's a fair amount of knockback.
Because you can RDC Stickybomb, you can chain spam it at long distances if you know Starfall won't work. Not the safest thing against some characters, but meh.
Thunder Crest - land mine - some sort of DC, it's still incomplete - air mine might work, not too sure though.
You don't have to bother watching past 3:30, the AI wouldn't cooperate any more after that. View pt. 2 if you want to see what I was trying to do there.
