This is a fun and great -looking move that requires no other hoop proficiency to find success -- very accessible to beginners! What it does require -- and helps to develop -- is hand, arm and shoulder strength and shoulder flexibility. And what a cool way to do that! Might start out hard -- how can such a little hoop feel so heavy! -- but you'll quickly refine this into something gorgeous as you increase that strength and range of motion.
