Richard Smalley and Sir Harry Kroto received the Noble Prize for their discovery of the Buckeyball. The buckeyball is a third pure form of carbon. Before l985, it was thought that there are only 2 pure forms of carbon: diamonds and graphene sheets. With Smalley and Kroto's discovery the field of science progressed significantly. Carbon 60 is another name for the buckeyball.
