About the album: In 1974, as the Bicentennial approached, Johnny was inspired to write a series of songs about life, family, and the American dream. It was the first time he'd written all of the songs for one of his abums. Remastered from the original source tapes, Ragged Old Flag is pure patriotism.
Lyrics: I walked through a county courthouse square On a park bench an old man was sitting there I said, "Your old courthouse is kinda run down" He said, "No, it'll do for our little town" I said, "Your old flagpole has leaned a little bit And that's a Ragged Old Flag you got hanging on it"
All I do is drive, drive, drive Try to stay alive And keep my mind on my load Keep my eye upon the road
