The former Silver Ledge Hotel in Ainsworth BC burned to the ground this morning. The fire stared next to the hotel in a trailer which was quickly destroyed by the fire and then spread to the former hotel. Kaslo Fire Department and other emergency agencies arrived on scene but could not save the old hotel. It burned to the ground shortly after. The hotel was built in 1896 and was being used as museum. Fire departments used the Kootenay Lake to fill the tankers to help save other buildings surrounding the burning hotel. Thanks goes to all the locals and emergency services for saving this small town from burning to the ground.
