What is the Average American Income? In September 2013 the United States Census Bureau released a report on the average American income as of 2012. Interestingly enough it came out to $51,017 comparatively the top 3 percent income earner earned about $225k. That's a pretty big gap!

There is a lot of hatred toward these top income earners, especially in recent news. This is because a segment of the population believes that the wealthy are earning their money by taking advantage of the poor.

If I can be blunt with you for a minute, regardless of income, background, race, religion, etc. there are people that are taking advantage of others. There is just no way around it. Stereotyping people based on their income is just another form of discrimination. Are there rich people that became rich by stealing from the poor? Of course just like there are poor people stealing from the rich.

Get over it!

Back off my high horse. For the purposes of this post I'd like to ignore the criminals and those with weak morals and focus on the normal people. There are people in the top 3 percent in nearly every industry and trade and most of them got there by creating value in other people's lives.
