Hi guys, this is the first video of my 'video blog'. LOL! This is Lolli (Lady Lorins), my new horse!
I got her on Halloween (31st Oct) 2010 and she's the most amazing horse I've ever met! She's so calm and kind and she never puts a foot wrong! She's never naughty or nasty! She's VERY green and needs a lot of guidance but if you have patience with her, then she's a good learner!
She's an ex hurdle racer (been off the track for 2 years and done nothing but hack and graze ever since) which means she's a star at cross-country and unlike most hurdle racers, she's got a raw natural talent for show-jumping. A little birdie told me that she's very calm and collected over a jump. I've free schooled her a few times and she's got a lovely, neat jump. But like I said she is green so she does get it wrong sometimes.
Her paces are beautiful and elegant. She will make a stunning dressage test when she's ready for it!
So with all things considered, with a bit of work and bonding, I want to get her out doing some serious ODE's!!
I've had her for 2 months and already I'm completely and utterly in love with her! She really is my forever horse! She's such a funny character and she's a typical chestnut mare (stubborn, bossy, bolshy) but she's not a typical TB (calm, kind, caring, NOT fizzy in the slightest!) Yes she can be playful but what horse isn't?! :D
She's also a speedy horse, but with time and patience she will come to learn that there's no need to rush everywhere. Unfortunately her time on the track has got her into some bad habits that can be undone.
There's been a few accidents with her though. And I'm hopefully moving yards soon because the stable she is in is a death trap. At the moment she is non-ridable because I'm having to drug her up everyday with meds for a skull fracture. Mysterious huh?
