The Global Road Safety Partnership is a voluntary initiative that began its activities in 1999 with the support of leading multilateral and bilateral development agencies, governments, businesses, and civil society organisations. The Global Road Safety Partnership is hosted by IFRC in Geneva. It is dedicated to the sustainable reduction of road crash deaths and injuries in low and middle income countries, which suffer from 90 percent of the 1.3 million annual deaths from road crashes.

Currently working with approximately 25 countries, the Global Road Safety Partnership creates and supports multi sector road safely partnerships that are actively engaged with implementing evidence based good practice road safely interventions.

This lecture shall focus on the consequences of road crashes as a global crisis, the importance and concerns it raises. Our speaker, Andrew Pearce, Chief Executive of Global Road Safety Partnership, will elaborate on what is being done, what the challenges are, and how you can get involved in contributing to some of the solutions.
