This video describes a stop-gap "fix" to revive a first gen Apple Wireless (bluetooth) Keyboard, specifically Apple Model "A1016", white and clear polycarbonate. This keyboard is absolutely STUNNING looking in design aesthetic, and also a dream to type on, and has the perfect heft to it.

People on eBay are selling these as "dead", when all that usually has happened is that the (+) positive battery terminals in the battery compartment (they take "AA" type alkalines) become worn in one spot, and lose connection to the battery. I bought the keyboard shown in this video for a mere £10 with free shipping, and this fix worked IMMEDIATELY, and I am now using the keyboard full time! :D

In this video I show you how to remedy this issue; you can choose to keep this method as a permanent solution, or possibly seek a better fix if you can think of one (let us know if you do - I imagine that some form of small metal washer/ring, the inner hole of which would fit around the positive (+) "AA" battery terminal snugly, and ensuring more surface area contact between battery and terminal, ergo affording a better, more reliable connection.)

I should like to thank whoever it was that came up with this idea, on the Apple forums, for this superb tip:
