In online marketing, conversions and ecommerce transactions are credited to the last campaign, search, or ad that referred the visitor when he or she converted. But what role did prior website referrals, searches and ads play in that conversion? How much time passed between the visitor's initial interest and his or her purchase? Multi-Channel Funnels - in limited pilot in Google Analytics - will tell this complete story by providing true cross channel reporting on the conversion funnel, showing marketers which digital channels customers interact with before purchase.

This new set of reports will help marketers understand how each of their online traffic pieces work together.
--Gain insight into which channels customers interact with during the 30 days prior to conversion
--Marketers can see which channels initiate, assist, and complete conversions.
--Multi-Channel Funnels show interactions with virtually all digital channels, including paid and organic searches, affiliates, social networks, and display ads.

@Google Analytics: What tool are u using to animate your video? Incredible!
The animation is wonderful
The analogy is good.  I HATE the music!  It distracts if you hate it - when will these self-serving video creators learn that their creation isn't for them, it is for an audience they have never met.  At university, would a lecturer in advanced mathematics play muzak in the background?  No, of course not and it should be obvious as to why. The other thing is that although it gives you an overview of what the service does, they use a ton of buzzwords that confuse the heck out of someone not introduced to this methodology (and maybe that is someone who doesn't want to learn them...).  Professors make terrible teachers because they can't understand the problems facing people who find it hard to understand. I didn't much go for the graphics either - once again, they should be getting facts across, not making us giggle as we eat popcorn.

The consumer class is being herded like cattle through a labyrinth of product placement, eye-catching advertisements, and clever marketing and we have no twine to guide ourselves back out.
