Eavan Boland, Hon. MRIA has written a new poem to celebrate 100 years since the women of Ireland, Mná na hÉireann, were granted suffrage and first cast their ballots in the 1918 election.

'Our future will become the past of other women' was commissioned by the Government of Ireland and the Royal Irish Academy to be read at the UN during the centenary commemorations.

This video is narrated by Fiona Shaw. The Royal Irish Academy have also produced a limited edition book of the poem in the six official languages of the UN and Irish which is beautifully illustrated by artist Paula McGloin and exclusively available from https://www.ria.ie/our-future-will-be...
