Senior electrical and computer engineering students presented their innovative inventions on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012. Among the designs they fabricated is a "smart" house that reduces energy consumption by automatically turning devices on and off, a "smart" fridge that makes shopping for groceries easier by keeping track of what is in the fridge, and a solar powered house design that is capable of collecting rainwater to water plants and flush toilets, among other things. The inventions are part of a capstone project that engineering undergraduates must complete prior to graduation.
