Imagine what it would feel like to have two slips of paper worth $1 million each. One Virginia woman no longer has to imagine. She knows first-hand. "I'm in shock!" said Virginia Fike of Berryville.
When Ms. Fike stopped at Olde Stone Truck Stop on Martinsburg Pike in Clear Brook a few weeks ago, she had her Powerball numbers ready and planned to buy two tickets. "I picked numbers based on my parents' anniversary and their ages at that time, divided by the year they were married," said Ms. Fike. "I just love the jackpot games and I play when I can afford it."
After the winning Powerball numbers were drawn on Saturday, April 7, Ms. Fike was sitting in a hospital room keeping her mother company. She said, "I saw a scroll on TV about there being two $1 million winners. I looked at my mom and said 'Wouldn't it be funny if it was us?' Watch the video to hear the rest of her story!
