A presentation by William Harris M.D.

At a meeting of the Honolulu Sierra Club on 2/15/05, founding VSH board member Bill Harris, M.D., discusses the environmental impact of animal agriculture, including the cleanup costs of its massive manure output, its water use and water contamination, the inefficiency of feeding plant food to animals and then eating the animals, and its waste of fossil fuels. Bill then makes up a batch of his favorite meal, a strawberry smoothie with sunflower and unhulled sesame seeds. A second section from Germany by Thea Dronjic of Animals Angels details the inhumane transport of Canadian pigs to Oahu where they are then slaughtered and presented to the public as "fresh island pork." This video signs off with PETA${q}s "Meet Your Meat" featuring country singer Jimmy Galtin backgrounding with his moving "Just a Slaughter House."
